When Nintendo took over the Pokémon TCG from Wizards in 2003, it launched its own promo line: the Nintendo Black Star Promos, a series of 40 cards distributed through products, events and campaigns. Torchic is the undisputed star of the card list at around €1,254, miles ahead of Metang at around €490 and Mudkip at around €19. The early promos of this line in particular are prized rarities today.
